From undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Quintas in Duoro, Alves de Sousa – Caldas is a winery with great history and tradition. Recently it has undergone a restructuring and transformation to bring state of the art technology to complement the time-honored viticulture. The resulting amalgamation of tradition and modernity has reinforced Quinta das Caldas’ position as one of the pillars in the production of superior quality wines in the region. The unique terroir of the Qunita and the quality and singularity of winemaker Domingos Alves de Sousa’s first wine conquered connoisseurs and deserved the best reviews from critics. It was the beginning of the journey, full of success, which stretches to this day and has a great future.
Deep ruby color wine with very intense and very pure fruit character, showing black berries and dark plums with hints of pink pepper. Vibrant but also very smooth and balanced. Long and harmonious finish. it is aged for 4 Years in vats and old casks.
Serve this wine at 15°C Pairs well with cheeses, chocolate and red/black fruits desserts.
This wine is amber in color with a few nuances of light reds. Caramel and toffee hints, with spices and dry figs. Very smooth and balanced but with a strong personality. Long and
harmonious finish. it is aged for 8 Years in old French oak barrels.
